Awaiting the arrival of a new baby is an exciting time! It doesn’t matter if your pregnancy took you by surprise or you are adopting after years of trying, the feeling of waiting for a child is unlike anything else. You are most likely experiencing a mix of emotions: worried, happy, excited, scared, curious. The list goes on and one and your emotions will change from one minute to the next. But, excitement seems to trump them all, and rightfully so. Here are 5 of the top things that expectant parents are excited about, see if you agree:
1. Your Growing Belly
Many little girls grow up dreaming of the days they have a newborn baby and for many, this includes stuffing a pillow or ball under their shirt to pretend they have a baby in their belly. When you first found out you were pregnant you most likely started to imagine what you would look like as your pregnant belly began to show. It’s exciting that the whole world can see that you are expecting a new little bundle of joy, and maternity clothes have come a long way in the past few years. Not to mention how nice it is when you don’t have to think about “sucking it in” after a big meal!
2. Your Growing Family

3. Seeing What Your Newborn Looks Like

4. Getting Your Body Back
For an expectant mother, it can be fun to see your belly grow and change. And, feeling your child move inside of you is nothing short of a miracle. But, as the baby gets bigger and has less room it starts to get uncomfortable. It’s hard to sit, it’s hard to sleep, and as soon as you get out of the bathroom you have to turn around and head straight back in again. Once your sweet little one has arrived you can sleep on your stomach (remember what that felt like?), go a few hours without visiting the restroom, see your toes, and start to wear pants with a button on them again.
5. Holding Your Newborn Baby in Your Arms
There is so much that you are not able to control when you are expecting a baby. You can’t see the baby. You worry about if they are ok and they are moving enough and everything else. But, you can’t see them, so it’s hard to tell. As soon as you are holding your newborn in your arms, you will breathe a sigh of relief because you know that they are safe and healthy.
