I’ve been photographing Marcia and Denver’s family for almost ten years now, which means I’ve watched Kaitlyn and Connor grow from little kids into the confident, kind humans they are today. They also happen to be my niece and nephew, which makes sessions like this one even more meaningful.
Marcia and Denver have always been the steady center, while Kaitlyn and Connor bring their own personalities into every frame. There’s an ease between them that can’t be staged, the kind that comes from years of shared history and genuine connection.
Marcia truly has a beautiful family. Not just in the way they photograph, but in how they show up for one another. You can see it in the way they sit together, the way they laugh, and the quiet confidence they have as a family unit. Those are the details I’m always watching for, because they’re what make portraits feel real.
We kept the styling simple and timeless, letting soft tones and clean lines do the work. That approach never goes out of style and makes these portraits feel just as relevant now as they will years from today. From classic family portraits to individual images of each kid, every photograph reflects where they are right now while still honoring how far they’ve come.
Photographing families over the years is one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer in Grand Junction, Colorado. Seeing familiar faces return, watching kids grow, and preserving those chapters along the way is what full-service family photography is all about.
