BABY ADDISON – Timeless Newborn Photography Colorado
One of my favorite things about photographing growing families is getting to watch the story keep unfolding.
I have had the honor to photograph many ‘Stephens Babies’ over the last decade and now here we are with Kate and Jake’s baby number three already wrapped up in a tiny mint blanket and completely stealing the show.
Watching families grow over the years is such a special part of this job, and sessions like this always remind me why I love what I do so much.
This new baby girl was absolutely precious during her session. Tiny little expressions (JUST LIKE HER SISTERS’), bright eyes, and that perfectly squishy newborn stage that disappears way too fast. I loved keeping things simple and soft for her portraits so all the focus stayed on those sweet newborn details. The little green wrap and matching floral headband gave everything such a fresh spring feel without taking away from how naturally beautiful she already is.
Of course, the older sisters brought plenty of personality to the studio too ( just like they did before). These girls were so much fun from the moment they walked in. Full of energy, giggles, curiosity, and just enough silliness to keep everyone laughing the entire time. Sessions with toddlers and young kids never go exactly according to plan, and honestly, that is usually when the best moments happen. Lizzie especially had everyone smiling with her playful little poses and endless enthusiasm. She was absolutely determined to be part of every single thing happening in the studio, and I loved every second of it.
I feel like the image below is the perfect representation of how the sisters are at this point in time in life. LOVE IT!
Bristol is now such a wonderful big sister. She was so sweet and gentle with the baby, and you could already see how protective and proud she is. It is always amazing watching siblings interact with a new baby. Even in the middle of the wiggles and chaos, there are these tiny moments where everyone settles in together naturally, and those are the moments I love capturing most.
The family portrait ended up being one of my favorites from the session. Between the soft colors, the hanging lilacs ( from my own garden!!!), the white couch, and the girls all showing off their completely different personalities, it felt playful and relaxed in the best possible way. Mom and Dad handled the beautiful chaos like pros, and somehow everything came together perfectly. These are the kinds of images that become even more meaningful years from now when the girls are bigger and everyone looks back wondering how they were ever this tiny.
Photographing this family again felt is just like catching up with old friends. Seeing them grow from one little girl to a family of five has been such an honor, and I am so grateful they continue trusting me to document these seasons for them.
Babies do not stay little for long, and these busy, loud, beautiful stages pass faster than anyone expects. Being able to freeze just a small piece of it forever is something I never take for granted.
Kate and Jake, I can’t wait to keep watching the girls grow and hope to see you very soon ( for a family session 😉
