Congratulations on your pregnancy! As a newborn photographer, I love hearing about families that are expecting a new baby. There is so much excitement as the day draws closer. But, there is also a lot to be done while you are pregnant. Here are a few things to do before that sweet baby arrives:
Cooking is one of the last things you are going to feel like doing in those first few weeks when baby comes. So, spend some time preparing meals to keep in your freezer. That way each day you can pull out a meal that is already put together and waiting to be cooked. There are TONS of meals that freeze well and you can even put baked muffins in your freezer which make for an easy breakfast or snack when you have forgotten to eat. This will help make your maternity leave more enjoyable. You may even want to make some in your second trimester when you are full of energy to use when you are tired at the end of your pregnancy. If you need some ideas to get you started, check out these recipes from the Thriving Home blog.
Once your baby comes your time will be consumed by your little one. Make sure you spend time during your pregnancy doing things you love and spending time with the person you love. Get a prenatal massage. Do a few things to pamper yourself. Go on extra date nights. And, don’t forget to do these things once your baby arrives as well. Don’t be afraid to leave your newborn with a trusted family member or friend and sneak some time away. If you are nursing you may only be able to get away for an hour, but make sure you do.
Many women don’t realize that you actually want to choose your newborn photographer before your baby arrives. The best time to get newborn pictures is in the first few weeks after your baby is born. If you wait until after you give birth to start calling newborn photographers in Grand Junction CO you might run into a few problems:
In your second trimester, you should start looking for your photographer. This will give you a chance to talk about your preferences, your due date, and what to expect during your newborn session. And, don’t forget to ask about maternity sessions as well. Many photographers will offer a deal if you are using them for both a maternity photo shoot and a newborn session.
